Ceremonial and humanitarian service
Папская Гвардия Вальсингемская
A Christian fellowship of disciplined service, uniting military heritage, ceremonial duty, humanitarian action, and devotion to Our Lady of Walsingham.

Strength · Compassion · Peace
The Pontifical Walsingham Guard is the ceremonial and humanitarian assembly of the Pontifical Imperial State of Rome-Ruthenia. Rooted in Orthodox and Catholic traditions and in the historic protection of sacred places, the modern Guard was established in 2012 as a benevolent organisation of Christian service.
Its members are chosen for moral character, leadership, and a commitment to faith expressed through service to their communities. Many are military veterans, although membership is open to Christians of every denomination.
Preserving discipline, dignity, uniform traditions, and service within the Pontifical and Imperial Household.
Encouraging practical works of compassion, preparedness, health, and aid within members’ own communities.
Building unity and camaraderie across denominations, nations, professions, and prior forms of service.
A worldwide fellowship
The Guard’s membership spans four continents and includes experience in armed services, medicine, humanitarian work, emergency response, and preparedness. Its military customs honour that history while offering members a familiar structure in which to continue serving others.
During the global pandemic of 2020–2022, members served in healthcare and humanitarian capacities around the world. Their work exemplifies the Guard’s conviction that rank and insignia carry an obligation to compassionate action.

Organisation
The Guard’s 2022 reorganisation brought its historic formations into a clearer structure reflecting the heritage of the Pontifical and Imperial Household. Dedicated pages now present its units and flags, rank system, uniform standards, honours, current leadership, and spiritual patronage.
